These Terms and Conditions govern your use of meridianoceylon.com and the travel services offered by Meridiano Ceylon (including fixed packages, add-ons, specialty experiences, "Join a Group" flash deals, Digital Buddy, and related coordination). By using our website, creating an account where applicable, or submitting a booking request or payment, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy (how we handle your data) and our Refund Policy (cancellations, fees, and refund timing).
1. Who We Are & Scope
Meridiano Ceylon provides tour and travel-related services in Sri Lanka. Our website is a platform to explore itineraries, enquire, book, and coordinate with our team. These terms apply to all visitors and customers using the site unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2. Eligibility & Use of the Website
- You must be at least 18 years old to enter into a binding booking or payment arrangement with us, or you must act with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.
- You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering, enquiring, or completing checkout (including traveller names, passport details, contact information, and billing details where requested).
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account, where an account exists.
- You may not use our website for unlawful purposes, to transmit harmful code, to scrape or overload our systems without permission, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
3. Offers, Quotes, and Confirmed Bookings
Descriptions, sample itineraries, imagery, and prices on the site are intended to help you choose a product. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm your booking according to our process (for example after you complete required steps, we accept payment where applicable, and we confirm availability with partners). Until then, information is an invitation to treat and may be adjusted for seasonality, availability, or regulatory requirements.
We may decline or cancel a booking where a package is unavailable, where pricing or itinerary information was clearly erroneous, where we suspect fraud or abuse, or where legal or safety requirements prevent us from proceeding. If we cancel before service for reasons attributable to us, remedies will align with our Refund Policy where they apply.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices are quoted in the currency shown at checkout or in your agreement where stated. Taxes or third-party fees may apply depending on your payment method or jurisdiction.
Payments are processed by PayHere or other authorised payment partners. Meridiano Ceylon does not store your full card numbers on our servers; card processing and security practices are as described in our Privacy Policy. By paying, you authorise us and our processors to charge the agreed amount using your selected method.
Chargebacks should not be raised without first contacting us to resolve disputes. Abusive or disputed payments may affect our willingness to accept future bookings.
5. Travel Logistics, Behaviour, and Safety
Tour execution depends on roads, weather, closures, supplier availability, and local authority instructions. Reasonable substitutions (e.g. comparable accommodation or routing) may be made where necessary; we aim to preserve the spirit of your itinerary.
You must comply with instructions from guides, drivers, accommodation staff, and park or site officials. You are responsible for holding valid travel documents, visas where required (including ETA rules where applicable), insurance you consider adequate, and for declaring health or dietary needs that affect your participation.
Activities with inherent risk (wildlife, water, trekking, roads) require your sound judgment and adherence to local rules. Services such as Digital Buddy may be offered subject to separate consent as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law in Sri Lanka, Meridiano Ceylon and our team shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, loss of enjoyment, lost profits, or pure economic loss except where such exclusion is not permitted.
Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any booking or these terms shall, where allowed, be limited to the amount you paid to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the event, unless mandatory law states otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law forbids such exclusion.
7. Intellectual Property
Content on meridianoceylon.com—including text, logos, layout, itineraries, photographs, and graphics—is owned by Meridiano Ceylon or our licensors. You may not copy, republish, or exploit it commercially without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use consistent with normal browsing.
8. Third Parties
We work with hotels, guides, drivers, WhatsApp-based group coordination where offered, payment gateways, and other partners. Their services may have their own terms; please review partner policies where they apply directly to you (for example WhatsApp Meta Terms or PayHere Checkout terms displayed when you complete payment).
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Material changes should be reflected by the "last updated" approach on our site documents; continued use of the website or new bookings after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms, except where retroactive revision would be unfair or unlawful.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country provide otherwise without choice of law being effective.
